Roads, transit and traffic decisions in Vacaville, project by project
Interstate 80 and Interstate 505 meet in Vacaville, and state highway work gets the headlines. But most transportation decisions residents feel come from City Hall: which streets get repaved this year, where a crosswalk or signal goes, and how City Coach buses run.
Money for those projects usually comes from several places at once: the city budget, state gas tax funds and regional programs coordinated across Solano County. That mix is why a project can be approved and still wait years. This section follows each one from the capital project list to the contract vote to the cones on the street.
For every project we cover, we name the road, the cost, the funding source, the deciding body and the next public date. If a project is delayed, we say why, using the city’s own documents.
Coming up: a starter guide to Vacaville roads and transportation, and how to get a street on the repair list.
