Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026
This policy explains what information Stocktonforvacaville (stocktonforvacaville.com) collects, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect little.
Information we collect
Information you give us
If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, chosen subject and message. If you sign up for email notes, the signup form collects the details it asks for, such as your name and email address.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our server records basic technical data with each visit: IP address, browser type, pages requested, referring page and time. We use it to keep the site running and secure.
Cookies and similar tools
Google Analytics. We may use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and how people arrive. It sets cookies and collects usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location and device type. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on or by blocking analytics cookies.
Advertising. Ads on this site are delivered through Revive Adserver. The ad server may set cookies or use similar identifiers to deliver ads, cap how often you see them and count impressions and clicks.
Fonts. Our typefaces load from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google’s servers when a page loads.
Newsletter form provider
The email signup form is hosted by a third-party form provider (Sphere CRM) and loads inside our pages. Information you enter there goes to that provider and is handled under its terms. You can unsubscribe from any email using the link it includes.
How we use information
- To answer messages and corrections
- To send email notes you asked for
- To measure readership and fix problems
- To show and count ads
We don’t sell your personal information. We don’t use the contact form to build political mailing lists.
Third-party links and headlines
Our pages show headlines from other publishers, including CalMatters, KQED News and the CA Local News Fellowship, and link to official sites. When you follow those links, the other site’s privacy policy applies.
Your rights
California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to delete or correct it, and opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context advertising. We won’t treat you differently for using these rights.
Visitors from the EU and UK (GDPR): you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data, and object to processing. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
To make a request, use the contact page. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it.
Data retention and security
We keep messages only as long as we need them to respond or keep a record of corrections. We use reasonable safeguards, but no website can promise perfect security.
Children
This site is written for adults and isn’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
