About Stocktonforvacaville
Campaigns end. Representation continues. This site exists for the part that continues.
StocktonForVacaville.com started as the campaign site for Roy Stockton, who represents District 1 on the Vacaville City Council. After the 2024 election, the site took on a second job: explaining what city government is doing and how residents can take part.
Two roles, kept apart
The campaign archive keeps Roy Stockton’s own record: biography, priorities, election materials, disclosures, results and announcements, as they were published. Anything in the archive carries a Campaign archive label. It is candidate material, not city communication.
The civic information side is nonpartisan. It carries a Civic information label and is written by the District One Desk. It doesn’t argue for a candidate, and it never presents itself as an official City of Vacaville notice.
Who it’s for
District 1 residents first, then anyone in Vacaville who wants to follow a council decision from agenda to vote: homeowners and renters, parents, small businesses, neighborhood groups and people who just moved here.
What we cover
How articles are written and checked
Every civic piece answers the same questions: what is proposed, which body decides, when it meets, what it costs, which neighborhoods are affected, how residents can comment and what happens next.
- Facts come from public documents: agendas, staff reports, budgets, minutes, filings and official city pages. We link to them.
- We describe council votes as recorded, and election results as officially reported.
- We don’t invent quotes. When we report what supporters or opponents argue, we use their published words or describe their position plainly.
- We don’t attack private residents for disagreeing in public.
- Sponsored content, if we ever run it, is labeled at the top. Ads never sit inside the headline area of an article.
- Corrections are made in the article and noted with a date. Send them through the contact page.
